Active Design Review

Editorial policy

Active Design Review aims to make product design understandable without overstating what an article can establish. We explain our reasoning, use precise language and make corrections when readers identify a clear error.

Accuracy and clarity

Writers should check factual claims against suitable sources and distinguish established information from interpretation or opinion. Articles should explain the basis for comparisons, define technical terms and avoid claims that cannot be supported. Where a point is uncertain, the wording should say so rather than imply certainty.

Independence

Editorial decisions are made for reader interest and relevance to the publication's subject. A commercial relationship does not determine our conclusions or guarantee favourable coverage. We do not claim hands-on testing unless an article explicitly describes what was tested and how.

Corrections

Readers can report a possible error through the Contact page. We review the specific claim, correct material mistakes and clarify wording when needed. Significant changes should be noted in the article so readers can understand what was updated.

Partnerships and illustrations

Paid, gifted or partner-supported material is clearly identified where it appears, and its relationship to the partner is explained. Partner arrangements do not buy editorial approval. Some illustrations may be AI-generated; when that is the case, they are labelled, and they are not presented as documentary photographs.
